Upper Marlboro, MD... The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest this morning of Brainard Hyson on a First Degree Assault warrant obtained by District IV County Police detectives on February 01, 2012.

According to the warrant, on January 25, 2012 at the intersection of Auth Way and Auth Road in Temple Hills, an on-duty County Police Officer observed Hyson assaulting a woman inside of a vehicle, before he pushed her out of the vehicle while it was moving. The warrant indicates that Hyson fled the scene.

With information obtained from the victim, who was rescued by the police officer, the search for Hyson led Sheriff’s Deputies, accompanied by officers of the U.S. Marshal’s Service, to the 6000 block of Woodland Lane in Clinton where Hyson was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the County Correctional Center.

Hyson is also charged with Second Degree Assault.
