PRESS RELEASE
Quick Arrest Made in Indian Head Highway Homicide

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Jesse Hamil Miller, 23, in connection with the murder of Eugene Jeffrey Dixon, 17, that occurred yesterday in Oxon Hill.

On May 26, 2010 at approximately 12:26 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Indian Head Highway for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, patrol officers located Dixon, of the 600 block of Brandywine Street SE, Washington, D.C. with a gunshot wound.  He was transported to a local hospital, where he died a short time later.  A 21 year-old male, who was also shot, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives were able to quickly identify Miller, a D.C. resident, as the suspect in the case. Miller was located in the District of Columbia yesterday evening and charged with first-degree murder.  Miller is being held in the District of Columbia pending extradition back to Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Homicide detectives were able to determine that this incident was not a random act of violence and that the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute between the involved persons.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (301) 772-4925.
