Police Urge Caution after Reported Rape on Dickinson Avenue



    Prince George’s County, Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit is urging caution after a 21 year old University of Maryland student was raped at her residence in College Park earlier this morning.

    At approximately 5:00 a.m., the female victim was asleep inside her residence in the 7500 block of Dickinson Avenue in College Park when she was awoken by the suspect who was sexually assaulting her.  The victim screamed and startled the suspect at which point he fled the residence.  Shortly after the assault, the victim responded to the Criminal Investigations Division to report the incident.

    The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern or Latino male with dark hair and dark eyes.  He is medium height with a small build.

    The Prince George’s County Police Department would like to remind residents to make sure all doors and windows are locked when going to bed and to utilize any outdoor lighting on the exteriors of houses and residences.
