Police Make Arrest in 2005 Homicide in New Carrollton



          Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 23 year-old Kevin Reshawn Price, in connection with the 2005 shooting death of 22 year-old Chester Slaughter that occurred in New Carrollton, Maryland..     

          Price, of the 13000 block of Attleboro Court, Laurel, Maryland, was picked up on an arrest warrant on June 25, 2009, without incident.  He has been charged with first degree murder and remanded to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

          On June 5, 2005, at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of 85th Avenue for the report of a shooting.  Upon their arrival, they found Chester Slaughter, of the 5300 block of 85th Avenue, lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.  He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.   

          “This is an example of our detective never giving up on solving a homicide.  Even though this murder occurred over four years ago, we were able to persevere and bring this crime to a closure.” stated Police Chief Roberto L. Hylton.
