Police Make Quick Arrest in Fatal Domestic Related Stabbing on 15th Avenue



Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with the assistance of the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Repeat Offenders Unit, United States Marshals Service and the New Jersey State Police, has arrested 27 year-old Leonel Rodriguez in connection with the stabbing death of 27 year-old Juan Izales stemming from a domestic argument that occurred on June 15, 2009.     

Rodriguez, of the 8100 block of 15th Avenue, Langley Park, Maryland, was arrested this morning in Camden, New Jersey without incident.  He is charged with first degree murder and remains in New Jersey awaiting extradition.

On June 15, 2009, at approximately 12:04 a.m., officers responded to the 8100 block of 15th Avenue for the report of a cutting.  Upon their arrival they found Juan Izales, of the 8100 block of 15th  Avenue, in the parking lot suffering from stab wounds.  He was transported to a local hospital and admitted with life threatening injuries.  On June 19, 2009, Izales died as a result of his injuries.
