Prince George’s County, Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred overnight in which a male victim died in Mount Rainier, Maryland.
On December 4, 2009 at approximately 10:18 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Queens Chapel Road for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered 39 year-old Jose Alfredo Benitez, also of the 2500 block of Queens Chapel Road, suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. Benitez was pronounce dead on the scene. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.
