Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is assisting the Capitol Heights Police Department with the investigation of a domestic related homicide that occurred earlier this morning in their jurisdiction.
On June 20, 2009, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Capitol Heights Boulevard, Capitol Heights, MD for a report of a violent domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers found the decedent, 30 year-old Richard Marcellous Wilson, of the 700 block of Capitol Heights Boulevard, in front of this location with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Wilson violated an active ex-parte order and violently attacked the female victim, who fearing for her life, used a handgun to defend herself. No criminal charges are pending at this time.
