Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested 23 year old Alex Demar Gordon in connection with the May 2008 shooting death of Casey Stephanie Smallwood that occurred on Buchannan Street in Edmonston, Maryland.
 
During the course of the investigation, detectives developed Gordon as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Gordon, of the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring, Maryland was arrested without incident on December 24, 2008, in the 6300 block of Landover Road.  He was charged with First Degree Murder and remanded to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro with no bond.
 
On May 3, 2008, at approximately 5:48 a.m., Edmonston and Prince George’s County police officers responded to the 5000 block of Buchannan Street for the report of a shooting.  When officers arrived, they found 19 year old Casey Stephanie Smallwood with gun shot wounds to the upper body.  She was pronounced dead on the scene and the investigation was handed over to the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide unit.
