Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, Statement
Prince George’s County Police Thwart Possible Attack in County
“Today’s apprehension of a suspect who made violent threats by the Prince George’s County Police Department working in concert with the Anne Arundel County Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) may have saved the lives of a countless number of people. The outstanding cooperation and communication between law enforcement agencies was critical to preventing another mass shooting tragedy in our country. I want to thank the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the ATF, and, specifically, the Prince George’s County Police Department for their investigative work on this case and their unwavering vigilance to keep our citizens safe. In the wake of the tragic shootings in Colorado, we are all fully aware of the destruction one individual can do. However, we must always remember that the County, State, and country have millions of dedicated law enforcement personnel, along with engaged and responsive good Samaritans who report suspicious activity to the authorities. Today’s news is a testament that when we all work together, lives can be saved.” ###
