Camp Springs, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of Family Services Mental Health and Disabilities Division will be hosting the Annual Mental Health Providers’ Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, May 24th at La Fontaine Bleue in Lanham, MD. This event recognizes mental health service providers as well as advocates for their commitment and dedication to improving the lives of individuals with mental illnesses.
The awards luncheon is held annually in May during national “Mental Health Month”. Locally, the Office of the County Executive and the County Council issue annual proclamations to commemorate the work of mental health professionals in Prince George’s County. Attendees to the annual event include mental health service providers and mental health consumers, as well as elected and government officials.
Prince George’s County is committed to providing a continuum of services to persons who must cope with mental illness. L. Christina Waddler, Division Manager for the Mental Health and Disabilities Division, stated that “It is our charge to see that consumers of the Public Mental Health System receive quality services, and that any gaps in services are minimized.”
