LARGO, MD –The Prince George’s County Minority Business Development Division (MBDD) announces the January Training Schedule.  The outreach and educational programs hosted by MBDD are designed to provide information and resources to assist in the growth of the Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) of Prince George’s County.  Unless otherwise noted, all MBDD training events are free and participants can register at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/minoritybusiness.  For more information, contact Denise Roberts at 301-883-6480.

Building Effective Teams and Collaboration in Your Business
Are you ready to take your business to the next level in 2012? This new and interactive workshop is for you!  

The purpose of this workshop is to provide contractors with an overview of teaming agreements and joint ventures. The featured speaker for this event is James R. Benjamin, Jr., Esq., Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A.

Featuring presentations from industry experts, this class will define:
•         What teaming agreements and joint ventures are
•         The benefits of establishing such agreements
•         How to implement such agreements, and much more.

How to Respond to a Prince George’s County Multi-Step Invitation for Bid
We are kicking off our “Doing Business with Prince George’s County” series with our popular free hands-on, interactive training focused on Multi-Step Invitation for Bids (IFBs).

The workshop is focused on providing small and minority businesses with the basics of Prince George’s County Multi-Step IFBs and how to effectively respond and submit a bid.

Participants will be trained on:
•         The different components of a Multi-Step IFB
•         How to respond to a Multi-Step IFB
•         How to avoid common challenges and mistakes
•         How the bids are evaluated.

Our featured speaker, Tracy Benjamin, Associate Attorney, Prince George’s County Government, will offer expert advice for small and minority business owners on the different types of legal issues that you need to be cognizant of regarding the following topics:
